Spring migration in the Aleutians is what birders dream about. Adak, the westernmost town in America, provides surprising levels of comfort and convenience in an incredibly remote and rugged place. The birding’s not bad either.

We never saw the entire mountain, but on a couple days most of Mount Moffitt, Adak's tallest peak, was visible.
