Small is Beautiful

Smaller Groups = Better Trips. With nine or fewer guests on most of our tours, our trips are more fun, more flexible, and more awesome!

A BIT ABOUT US

We focus on crafting birding and ecotourism adventures designed for those in search of birds, wildlife, and wild places. From a village experience on an island in the Bering Sea to the wilds of the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, Wilderness Birding Adventures specializes in remote destinations, unique experiences, and wilderness travel. We have been the company of choice for those seeking to bird Alaska with Alaskans for over 35 years.

We also lead a few select international tours, taking the same approach that we use on our Alaskan adventures. Our leaders—skilled birders and seasoned travelers—collaborate with the best local birders and naturalists in our host countries to provide a professional and personal experience, guaranteeing a trip of a lifetime!

We’re motivated by quality, not quantity. Most of our trips are limited to just nine participants ensuring plenty of individual attention and a comfortable camaraderie between guests. Our Alaskan leaders provide an unmatched level of local expertise, and where ever we go, we create adventures that we would want to take ourselves—small group expeditions to interesting places, designed for interesting people.

WHAT OUR GUESTS SAY

I've been on three trips with WBA and each one gets better. Locations are scouted rigorously, itineraries are well thought out for plenty of time for observation and photography. And the guides are phenomenal!

Every experience is new and exotic: walking barefoot on the tundra and being alert for bears… the pack ice melting under the orange glow of the sun at midnight. In short, I feel like you have opened my eyes. It was the best experience I’ve had in 20 years.
