A ferry crossing on the Alaska Marine Highway is one of the only ways to reliably get offshore in the Gulf of Alaska and search for some of Alaska’s true pelagic species. Combine it with a couple of days birding the rich wetlands and rainforests of Juneau and you’ve got a great birding trip!
