TIM SCHANTZ MEMORIAL WEBSITE
Tim guided for us for several years until he died in 2001 of a heart attack at age 36. He was a phenomenally gifted birder, guide and human being. We miss him. His family has established a scholarship fund in Tim’s name to support an aspiring ornithologist. ALASKA BIRD OBSERVATORY
The mission of ABO is to advance the appreciation, understanding, and conservation of birds and their habitats through research and education.

Founded in 1991, ABO specializes in long-term studies of migrant and resident birds of interior Alaska. Similar observatories are located in the contiguous United States and southern Canada, but ABO is the only organization of its kind in Alaska.

The Alaska Wilderness Recreation & Tourism Association (AWRTA) is a member-led association that represents more than 300 nature-based tourism businesses. AWRTA advocates for the sustainability of Alaska's natural and cultural resources, responsible tourism and tourism planning for communities. AWRTA advocates for businesses that rely on healthy natural resources, wildlife and wilderness; businesses that practice the principles on ecotourism.

eBirdAlaska
What is eBird?
A real-time, online checklist program, eBird has revolutionized the way that the birding community reports and accesses information about birds. Launched in 2002 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society, eBird provides rich data sources for basic information on bird abundance and distribution at a variety of spatial and temporal scales.
AK Birding at Yahoo
AK Birding is a Yahoo group site for discussion of Alaska birding and wild birds.  Topics include bird sightings, status, distribution, identification and birding locations. This list is statewide in scope.
