WALES Birding Focused
June 9-12
4 days - $1,900 from Nome; $2,300 from Anchorage

After our exploratory trip Last June, we are excited to return to the wonderful village of Wales. This Inupiat Eskimo village sits at the westernmost tip of the Seward Peninsula, north of Nome and just a hop away from Siberia - will situated to pick up Asian bird species. This location has had rare bird sightings when birded many years ago, including Eurasian Dotterel; they may be nesting there. On our exploratory trip last June, we didn't find any Dotterels but that doesn't mean they aren't there - and we did have some excellent birding. The area has been seriously underbirded, and that, of course, lures us back to see what we can find. It certainly warrants observation by a sharp-eyed group of adventurous and keen birders.

(All meals are included in Wales.)

Combination Suggestions:

Nome II + Wales + Barrow + Kenai

Scoping Bering Strait, Alaska's Bering Sea

Rock Sandpiper, Alaska's Bering Sea
